History
Australian Gold® Founder, Trevor Gray, was born and raised in a small town in Indiana, America. However, thanks to his mother’s Australian heritage, he also felt a deep connection to there too. Trevor was raised by 3 Australian women, and had a strong bond with his mother’s homeland and culture. When travelling back to Australia to visit family, Gray always felt drawn to the country’s beautiful landscape, vibrant culture and strong passion for all things sun and surf. In 1985, Australian Gold® was born, emulating the Australian culture he loved so dearly. Through its brand and products, Australian Gold® aims to fully embrace the active Aussie lifestyle, by delivering amazing fragrances, natural ingredients and unmatched performance.
Inspired by the beach that put Australian Gold’s products on the map, Cocoa Beach, Florida, our signature SPF fragrance, Cocoa Dreams, instantly conjures up memories of good times, sunshine and holidays, every time you open the bottle. This gorgeous fragrance has also been brought over to some of our tanning lotions, to accompany your 12 minute holiday.

The use of these native ingredients leaves you with a one-of-a-kind experience for your sun protection and tanning lotions. Each formula is carefully developed using high-quality ingredients with a focus on skincare. Sun Protection
Our line of certified Broad Spectrum sun creams not only focus on the importance of UV protection, for reliable sun safety, but also provide users with skin-nourishing ingredients for moisturised, smooth and soft skin. This added focus of skincare ensures our sun protection is fast-absorbing, deeply moisturising, and free from that notorious greasy after-feel typically - and negatively, - associated with sun protection. Not only does this make application enjoyable, but it also prevents matted body hair and results in supple skin, making this ideal for all tanners.
What’s more, as the world becomes more eco-conscious, some nations, such as Hawaii are only allowing the use of mineral sun protection, to protect their seas and coral reefs. To support this, we have also created a line of botanical SPFs which are certified reef-friendly, meaning that all UV filters are biodegradable and will not contribute to the bleaching of coral. This line is also dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic, ensuring that no matter your lifestyle, we can provide you with the protection you need.
Tanning
Our range of tanning lotions have been specially designed to regenerate and restore skin, adding depleted moisture and vitamins which could have otherwise been lost whilst tanning, ensuring great skin condition. Our lotions are deeply hydrating, thanks to our combination of top-quality ingredients, which help you to tan deeper at a faster rate and finish with longer-lasting colour. All Australian Gold® lotions are different and contain different features that aid the tanning process, however they all maintain Gray’s connection to Australia through the use of native plant extracts and ingredients, such as Kakadu Plum, Australian Tea Tree Oil and Quandong Extracts. The use of native Australian Desert plant extracts allows us to harness their natural water-retaining properties, to deliver a luxurious, nourished feel and enhanced results.

Doing Our Bit
From our cute Sydney The Koala logo, to the koala we have adopted in Paradise Country, Australia, Taro, we love all things furry! Australian Gold® has always been a cruelty-free brand with many vegan-friendly formulas. We are also working on all new SPF releases being certified vegan, to ensure our products are as inclusive as possible.
All bottles we product for our products are recyclable, as are the boxes used for our delivery service. What’s more, the packing used inside to keep your products safe during transit use a natural starch-based material, meaning that they are biodegradable.
When delivering your products, we employ the services of DPD and Royal Mail, both of which employ keen environmental policies. Every parcel delivered by DPD is carbon neutral, helping to protect the environment at no extra cost to the customer. Royal Mail are also working to reduce their energy use and the greenhouse gas emissions associated with it.
